Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 10, 2026

Overview

Verro ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Verro website at withverro.com and the Verro Chrome extension. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

We take your privacy seriously. We do not sell your personal data. We do not build advertising profiles. We collect only what is necessary to provide the service.

Information We Collect

1. Email address (waitlist)

If you sign up for our waitlist on withverro.com, we collect your email address. We use it solely to notify you when the Verro Chrome extension launches publicly. We do not use it for marketing or share it with third parties.

2. Product page data (Chrome extension)

When you use the Verro Chrome extension on a supported shopping website, the extension reads publicly visible product information from the current page — including the product title, price, reviews, description, and retailer name. This data is sent to our backend server to generate deal analysis. It is not stored beyond the duration of your request, and it is not linked to your identity.

3. Session cache (Chrome extension)

The extension temporarily caches analysis results in Chrome's session storage (cleared when you close Chrome) so we don't re-analyze the same product page on every click. This data never leaves your device.

4. Usage analytics (website)

We use Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to collect anonymized, aggregated page view counts and performance metrics. No personally identifiable information is collected through analytics. Vercel's privacy policy applies.

How We Use Your Information

  • To send you a one-time launch notification (email from waitlist only)
  • To generate AI-powered deal analysis for the product page you are viewing
  • To improve the performance and reliability of our service

We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond what is described above.

Third-Party Services

Verro relies on the following third-party services to operate. Each has its own privacy policy:

  • Google Gemini AI — Used to analyze product data and generate deal scores. Product data (title, price, reviews) is sent to Google's API. Google's AI data usage policies apply.
  • SerpAPI — Used to search Google Shopping for price comparisons. Search queries (product titles) are sent to SerpAPI. Results are cached for 24 hours.
  • Railway — Hosts our backend server in the United States. Product data passes through Railway's infrastructure.
  • Vercel — Hosts our frontend website. Analytics data is processed by Vercel.
  • Upstash Redis — Stores waitlist email addresses and caches search results. Data is stored in the United States.
  • Resend — Used to send the waitlist confirmation email. Your email address is transmitted to Resend for delivery.

Data Retention

  • Waitlist emails — Retained until the extension launches publicly, after which we will send the launch notification and you may request deletion at any time.
  • Product analysis data — Not retained. Processed in memory and discarded after the response is returned.
  • Search result cache — Cached for up to 24 hours to reduce API costs, then automatically expires.
  • Session cache — Stored only in your browser session; cleared when Chrome closes.

Chrome Extension — Permissions

The Verro Chrome extension requests the following permissions and uses them as described:

  • activeTab / scripting — Read the current product page to extract title, price, and review information.
  • storage — Cache analysis results in session storage so the extension doesn't re-fetch for the same product.
  • tabs — Detect when you navigate to a supported shopping site to show the Verro button.
  • sidePanel — Display the Verro analysis panel in Chrome's built-in side panel.

The extension does not read your browsing history, passwords, form inputs, or any data outside of product pages on supported shopping sites.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights under GDPR (EU/UK) or CCPA (California) including:

  • The right to access the personal data we hold about you
  • The right to request deletion of your data
  • The right to correct inaccurate data
  • The right to withdraw consent (waitlist)

To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@withverro.com. We will respond within 30 days.

Children's Privacy

Verro is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, please contact us immediately.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as our service evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Verro after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
